It’s been about 4 months since this has been happening. My Zte Prestige a few months ago it was just the screen freezing, and as a solution, I smacked it on my lap to work and it did. But know, my screen is either, black, unresponsive, or is showing weird and distorted colors. I think this whole situation all started when I first opened the back of the phone and put it back. Please help me with how to fix it and what not to do with the phone.

Electronics are very fragile. Just be careful - but good news - u became a good hobbiyist and reparier - learn by reading the different teardowns in ifixit - be gentle when opening phone
SMACKING is not to do!!!
I smacked it on my lap to work and it did.
