Does MacBook Pro 2016 (mlh42) turn on when battery removed?

Hi,

I have a macbook pro 2016 15 inch (mlh42) touchbar with a swollen battery.

I was wondering if it would turn on and work properly if i remove the battery and connect it to ac power?

(btw my brother’s macbook pro 2015 15 inch (mjlq2) which has no dedicated graphics card, works just fine without battery)
