Canon Pixma MG5500, error code 6000, furious cartridge tray

Ink cartridge tray sits fully on the right side of the printer, where the cartridges are not visible. When the printer is powered ON, after 5 seconds the cartridge zips with very high speed 1-2 cm to the left, and immediately, in a twinkling of an eye, hurls itself forcefully back to the right, shaking the printer forcefully with loud clang. Then the printer shows the 6000 code and stays completely frozen until the next Power ON.

Nowhere any debris, pieces of paper etc. Anyone experienced the same violent behavior in any Pixma series printer?
