Galaxy Buds right side volume low

3 days ago my Galaxy buds on the right side started to get low volume but with the left it's completely fine. I tried resetting twice, seeing if there's any physical damage or liquid, but it's still occurring. How do I fix it?

My left bud does this

My left bud is doing this but for some reason that bud has a much tighter fit even when I swap the ear tips

Same thing is happening to me. My left bud is now a lot quieter than my right bud.

I had the same problem. Tried all the "soft ware" fixes to no avail.

I took off the little silver screen cover. Removed the black mesh behind it, and replaced silver screen. Solved the problem. Sound is great.

Hey everyone, I have a fix that might help. I assumed it was a software problem with my buds too. I did the thing where I pulled the mesh out and all that and still had the problem.

Here's how I fixed it:

With the mesh attached in the earbud, I wiped it with rubbing alcohol, and then used an air duster can to blow directly into the mesh. Voila my earbuds were good as new.

Ok ok ok ok ok. So I had this problem and freaked out. People kept telling me this bs solution about the Galaxy wearable app but it doesnt do sh!t. So hear me out please.

Please grab out 2-3 of those cotton swabs used to clean your ears. Grab your regular isopropyl Ahcohol and wet the tip. Clean the metal grill but face the earbud sidways so it doesnt leak into the earbud. When you're finished rubbing the metal grill with the swab clean it up real good with a towel (microfiber like the soft ones used for a car where you can buy at the dollar store) and let it dry for a few and boom, your sound is regained!

I guess its a matter of just cleaning them good once in a while.

This worked for me so im not sure how it goes for all of you. Keep in mind that if you're not cleaning your ears regularly, that'll happen. Remember to clean your ears and buds everyone. Hope this helps!!

I just had the same problem and eventually the whole earbud died, I then just assumed it was the speak so I ordered just the bud I needed off eBay and then just opened both of then up with a pry tool and unplugged the cable connector and swapped out the speaker modules and then it worked(because you can't sync two different earbuds, they are synced by chip) and on the up side you have a spare battery and touchpad button

Remove silver speaker screen. Take out the black mesh behind it, and toss it. Clean silver screen with rubbing alcohol if needed. Replace silver screen. Fixed my sound problem.

How do you replace the silver screen. They dont sell them. And by the way, they're called metal grills, not silver screens ;)

完成的

Put the same grill back. It is metal. Once cleaned with alcohol, it will be good as new. Its only the wax stuck in grill holes that dampens the sound.

I used something simple as a thin nedle and wedged it from the outer diameter of the grill and inner diameter of the plastic

完成的

Make a couple of circles between the black plastic and the grill before sticking it between. That removes the thin glue lining and earwax.

Worked awesome thanks! 10 minute job, Be careful in not losing the small parts

Here's what I did. Nothing worked. I left my galaxy buds in the case for a couple of days because I was going to return them. I plugged connected them after a couple days of the right being so silent. When I connected them after a couple days they sounded brand new. I use em a lot so I guess they were being used to much. Try this and see if it works. It's a software issue not a hardware issue.

I’m on my second pair of Galaxy buds now because I had the same issue with the first pair where the right side was much quieter than the left side. They replaced my first pair with no problem at all and upgraded me to the Galaxy +. Now I am having the same problem again. I’ve done all the resetting that was recommended but I took some else’s advice and removed the metal grill from the right ear bud. It instantly became much louder! I then replaced the metal grill back onto the right ear bud and the sound was back to normal.

I have a phone repair kit that comes with many different screw driver heads. I heard someone used a needle to remove the grill. I used a very thin flat head piece to circle around the the grill to get the glue up that was holding it down. I then lifted it up very carefully will the tip to remove the grill. I sat the grill back on top and put the black mash on and that was it!

I just used a standard utility blade to slice out the glue. It wasn't very precise, and I did nip off some of the plastic, but I got the screen out and cleaned it, put it back in, and it works like a charm.

@Jake Freed I'll make sure to use the blade next time if something happens. Appreciate it!

I sliced out the glue but now the metal grill is loose. What type of glue should I use to restick it?

I know why it's quiet. I had this problem just as you. Earwax gets past the metal grate on the buds you need to pry it off a Swiss army knife works great. Once it's off wash that bad boy with water or 70% alcohol be sure to dry it and stick it back on and boom they'll work good as new. It happens when you press to hard and it gets through. Hope it helps

I waited thinking it would be an update issue but it wasn’t.

  1. Take a thin needle
  2. Run it around the circumference of the steel grill (This takes out the adhesive layer)
  3. Nudge the grill up slowly with the needle.
  4. Put on earbud and check if it is back to being equally loud as it used to be.
  5. If YES, remove the black sheath.
  6. Put the grill back.
  7. Enjoy the earbuds.

Actually it wouldn't be only the black sheath. The grill could have gunk built up there too so take a little plastic container so the grill won't fall down the sink and get some soap and water and wash off the gunk and dry it off. you can do the same with the sheath bc its to protect the gunk from actually hitting the stuff inside that would cause the earbuds to actually mess up

This is the best solution ever! Removing the grill and cleaning it made the earbuds even better!!

bro i didn't even need to get of the metal grill i just moved it a bit and it went back to normal.

One solution you can try to apply is to go to settings > in the search bar, search “sound” > Tap the option that says “Left/Right Sound Balance” > and check if the cursor is set to the middle not all the way to the left or right. Turn off mono audio as well if it’s on. I hope this helps.

All I had to do was change them 4 times and now I have a perfect working experience with my earbuds. So to my conclusion only 25% of the Samsung galaxy earbuds work without having to fool around with all tips above.

Hi, I had the same problem with my Galaxy Buds Plus and successfully solved it.

So what causes the problem?

The problem is earwax filling up the grill. Even though you have cleaned the grill from the outside, it can appear clean, but still be quite clogged. The solution is to remove all the earwax.

How to fix it:

1) Take a sewing needle (it needs to be very “sharp” or “pointy”), insert it into any hole of the grill and gently pry out the grill from the earbud.

2) Once the grill is off, you will see the backside of the grill is a black mesh. You will also notice that there is a small ring of adhesive tape falling off the ring around the grill edge.

3) Now you need to push the earwax back out by pressing the black side. For this, use a cotton swab - it helps to distribute the force evenly across the black mesh.

4) When pressing from the black side, you will see some earwax coming out the grill holes. I used a cotton swab and some isopropyl alchohol (any alchohol is fine, I guess…) to scrape it off. Repeat until there is nothing left on the grill.

5) Now, you need to put the grill back on. Unfortunately the grill now won’t stick to the earbud. You need to find a metal/plastic glue and very precisely apply it along the edge and glue them back together. REMEMBER not to use a glue that is too strong as you will probably have to do the whole procedure again in a year and want to be able to remove the grill again.

You’re welcome ;-)

Just to add to what has already been said…. removing and cleaning the silver screen and the black rubber pad under it worked for me.

To remove the screen 1st with a needle go around the screen to remove most of the glue.. its a tight fit but you should see some of the glue lifting up and then using the pores of the screen start lifting gently in increments around the top.

Once removed you can also gently lift and remove the rubber pad.

I put both in hedroperoxide to remove the wax build lightly tapping it with the needle to help the process along.

Take note: the underside of the rubber pad has a sticky rubber cement like substance that after I cleaned it it was still sticky and was placed back on the little “crossbar" that it was stuck to. Might also consider putting just a tiny bit of rubber cement around the screen to secure it in place.

I tried everything to get it to work. I believe it was a hardware/update problem. I noticed the galaxy wear app needed to be updated one day an after that the earbuds worked fine & been working fine since then …. So try messing with the app? Make sure you have the latest update

I struggled to get the metal grate off with a sewing needle. I disconnected the ear buds from all devices and uninstalled them so that they weren’t “on”. I ended up lightly soaking a tissue in 2% hydrogen peroxide (you could also take a dropper) and then allowing some drops to fall onto the metal grate, waiting 10 seconds, then rubbing the metal grate with the wet tissue, shaking the ear bud gently, and repeating about 5 times. Waited until the ear buds were dry, wiped them with a dry tissue again, and it worked!

I agree with everyone, I think ear wax builds up behind the grate. Hydrogen peroxide breaks up/dissolves ear wax. Just be careful not to soak the earbud, otherwise you’ll permanently damage it.
