2007 Suburban Amp Gauge Reads low

My 2007 Chevy Suburban has several issues. Firstly, after starting the amp gauge reads 14V , then after about one minute the gauge drops off slowly to close to battery voltage. I’ve checked the output at the alternator with a volt meter and it is also at battery voltage? This is a 5.3 L engine that was rebuilt about one year ago.
