Released October 24, 2011 / 2.2, 2.4, or 2.5 GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7 Processor

System won't boot (HD spinning, keyboard working but fans don't spin)

My MacBook Pro 2011 won’t boot due to a short circuit (sparks) with my screwdriver.

Fans and Chim don’t work but the HD is spinning. The USB ports are working also the DVD drive and thunderbolt. External monitor gives no response.

Powerbutton is working and batt is charging.

Does anyone have a suggestions to fix this.

Thanks Winn

Where did you touch with your screwdriver?

And why?

完成的

I was replacing my fan (on the left side) but forgot that the battery was still connected so I short circuit (sparked) the pins in the plug of the fan. After that the MBP was dead so I drained the battery to zero precent and waited for a day . After that the power button worked again and the HD was spinning but no fan spining or display image .

Well that’s bad … You’ll need to find someone to fix your logic board that might be hard.

But it may end of being a good thing! This series has issues with the dedicated GPU due to heat.

While you could just replace the logic board with another 2011 version you could just jump to a Mid 2012 version which will also fit and work. Its a much better board and the GPU runs cooler.

Review the following guides to find your logic board or the one you might like to go with
