Why won't my power or eject button work?

I did a tutorial on how to disassemble my Xbox 360 I bought off of a friend. The power and eject button worked before i cleaned it out but now that I have put it back together both the power and eject button refuse to respond. The Xbox still turns on and plays games fine the buttons on the actual console refuse to work. Thank yall!
