Having Sound Issues with the 3 2 1

There is only a muffled sound coming out of the acoustimass module , and no sound coming out of the wall speakers. When I try to turn up or down the volume either with the remote or by using the volume buttons on the media center, neither works. Wondering if the module cable is bad and that is what is causing the problem. Any suggestions?
