NEW Optical drive won't accept a disc

Sorry to spam the forums, I just replaced my optical drive on my xbox one, the old drive would not accept any discs, there was no mechanical movement to pull the disc in or eject it. I’ve now replaced the drive with a new one and am having the exact same issue.

There doesn’t seem to be a ton of info online about how to fix this issue beyond “turn it off and on again and hope for the best” and that hasn’t worked for me. Please please help me, I want to exhaust all my options before dropping money on yet another new optical drive.
