Recover the SSD from a dead tablet-PC

I have a dead tablet-PC Asus T300CHI.

The SSD is a SanDisk SSD 128GB which is soldered to the board. I wonder if it would be feasible to unsolder it from the board and solder it back onto a M.2 or mSATA board.

The idea would of course to be able to recover the information stored on it.

Many thanks in advance for the answer(s) …

As requested, a picture of the SSD:

it might be easier to repair the tablet, buy a cheap usb amp meter on ebay to check if it takes any power.

You have a SanDisk iSSD unit which is a self contained SATA based SSD! SanDisk i100 integrated Solid State Drive & SanDisk debuts new SSD U100 and iSSD i100 for tablets and ultra-thin notebooks

You'll need to contact SanDisk directly to see if they have an engineering development kit for the i100 iSSD. Basically, this is a PCB that holds the chip so you can test it out within your device you are developing. It may cost you a bit! Is it worth the effort? Is the info on the device that important?

No I would not attempt this at all. Controllers on the board that tell the chips what to do wouldn’t be compatible with a M2. Also waaaaay Too many ways to mess up and loose your data. Just try and repair the tablet itself and get your data. Take it to your local shop that does SMD soldering and see if they can fix it.
