Making a clear back glass. Need to remove a part. WIll phone work?

Im planning on making a clear back glass on my phone. I want to remove the plastic piece that covers the internal components. I know the loudspeaker and NFC antenna is in that. I want to cut out the speaker and just put that back on the phone. Would it work the same just without NFC capabilities? Thanks!
