Apple Keyboard A1048 recognized,usb hub works, keyboard not responsive

Just got a second hand Apple Keyboard A1048.

After cleaning it’s not working. Tried resetting SMC and restarting my Mac. The USB works and gets recognized.

What can I do?

What do you mean the USB works? Does the Key Caps LED lit when you press it?

The caps lock doesn't light up. but the USB hub on the keyboard works. Also the keyboard shows up when I go to system preferences -> keyboard -> modifier keys.
