Stop flashing input icon

My LG (a couple years old…not smart tv) is flashing input option on and off constantly. This happens in both TV and av mode. Was using for ps2 and gamecube as smart tv gets fuzzy picture with older systems. Now, only way to get to stop flashing is to hold where input buttons (touch sensitive area) is during game play. Any idea what my kids did to the TV and how to stop it?
