Hi.
My Mac pro (2.4 GHz intel core duo) is running 10.6.8 and I am increasingly having trouble with using online banking and using programs that need a newer OS.
I am not a techie person so can you explain how I can upgrade?
All the upgrades I’ve downloaded don’t work. 10.6.8 update says “installer can’t locate the data it needs to install” and other installers that claim to be able to upgrade from my version say “I need 10.7 to install”.

Sadly, you need to get to Mountain Lion 10.8 to then upgrade off of the App Store. Heres what you’ll need to buy OS-X Mountain Lion 10.8.x as its on CD.

I think this article should be able to help you out. Basically you can do the updates/upgrade right through the App Store. Be sure to back up any important files you need prior to upgrading, just in case.
