My CS50 works perfectly on one phone, but when I move it to another phone, I can't hear anything. It is installed correctly, and when I press the button on the headset, the regular receiver shuts down. But I cannot hear the dial tone through the head set. I haven't changed any of the settings on the base. Am I missing something?

Try moving the configurations setting switch on the base unit, through numbers 1-4 to see if you can get dial tone.

Being a bit pedantic but the video shows that you press the button on the headset first and then you lift the handset off the phone but you say "when I press the button on the headset, the regular receiver shuts down" which to me indicates that you're doing it the other way around.
I realize that it should transfer from the handset to the headset but am wondering if the sequence has to be in the correct order.
Apologies if this is what you meant.
Is this 2nd phone the same make and model type as the first that you have no trouble with?
