Why does my g4 not start up
When I turn on my iBook g4 it keeps giving me an error saying " you need to restart. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button." how can I fix this plz help

insert a mac OSX install disk and press and hold "C" on startup, then proceed to the disk utilities and see if there is a problem.

Can I use a DVD that burned to a disk of Mac os X. Because I tried it holding C and it takes me to a screen that has three icons of a hardrive and two arrows.
