Electronic fob works but car not registering it
I can lock, unlock and start keyless ignition but a warning sign appears on the dash “Not detecting key”. I have changed the batteries and taken it into Ford and they cannot find a problem although they saw the warning. They suggest it could be the sensor in the fob, but both the fobs are alerting the sensor to the same message.
My concerns are that it could be failing somewhere in the system and I could end up stranded away from home.
Based on the age range given it could probably be an issue with the car itself. I have a similar problem with my garage door and my cellphone in my car.
