The LG G4 was released in the US in early June 2015, as always focusing on high-end specifications and a refined fashion sense that makes it stand out in the premium smartphone market. Each version of the phone will have a different model number based on if it is sold by a carrier or unlocked (US or International). Some LG G4's are known to have bootloop problems.

I have bad cell reception

Hi. I have been having really bad reception with my LG G4 for a awhile now. Calls sometimes drop but I mostly have issues with texting and mobile data losing signal or not sending or receiving. Does anyone know where the antenna is located and how to fix it?

A broken antenna is not the most likely cause of poor data reception.

Cell phone signals are transmitted over several different frequency bands. Cell phone carriers are frequently shuffling these bands around and launching new frequency bands. As cell phones get older, the frequency bands that the cell carrier are using, and the frequency bands that your phone can support, become more and more mismatch. This results in poor reception of data.

The voice signal tends to remain on the same frequency bands.

When you buy a new phone, check if the phone supports all the frequency bands that your carrier is using and is planning to use. Just because it's a new phone does not guarantee it supports all the frequency bands.

I'm not sure if this is the cause though, I have an older LG G2 and it gets better more reliable signal running around -78 dbm. On the phone I am using that has the issue normally runs at -98 to -110dbm, both phones displaying the same amount of service bars though and I know this can't be true because anything above -100dbm is almost complete signal lost.
