Repair guides and support for LCD e-writer tablets manufactured by Boogie Board.

Parts of my Boogie Board are grey!

I have a Boogie Board (model 01582801516) and in one of the corners there's a large grey spot that won't go away.

Why is it like that? How can I fix it if it CAN be fixed?

@captainsnowball boogie board tablets are cheap e-ink displays with a limited battery for clearing what you've drawn on it. After the battery runs out you can't clear it anymore. It's cheap and designed to be disposable. Sometimes points on the screen get dots that cannot be erased. Perhaps because someone pressures the screen to hard.

You should always google the device before answering a question.

I took a look at it. I have a kindle and I beleive its the same mechanism. but as he said, he cannot get it to go away. presumably he tried turning it on.

No Aiden, you don't turn it on. It's a very basic device. You write something on it, it stays there until you hit the clear button at the top which refreshes the screen once. It's a totally analog device.

I've owned it for a few years. I think I got it when I turned 10?

完成的

Grey blotches can appear if the top LCD layer separates from the rest of the LCD, usually due to physical stress like a bend or impact from dropping it. No idea if it's repairable of worth repairing.

Mine has blue fading happening around the edges...

完成的

I got the blue fading in the upper corners. I am not able to erase, either. I have replaced the Cr2016 batteries - no the solution here. I have a greenish tone over the entire screen and I can make marks on this green area, but I am not able to erase anything. I can gentle scroll over the grey marks to cause a uniform green tone color - then I can make new grey marks over this area which very very slow fade significantly. I am assuming this display is totally wasted. This failed boogie board seems to resemble my water Buda Boards that softly fades as the water brush marks slowly evaporated.
