How do I replace a faulty engine block heater?

I have to plug the truck in winter to keep the engine and battery warm. Few days ago I noticed that my electrical outlet breaker would trip when I plugged the truck in. Traced the problem to a faulty engine block heater and it appears to be similar to this one. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated
