Screen goes extremely dim

My screen is almost always extremely dark (no icons visible just very dim light) sometimes it helps to hit it on the back a few times for a few minutes but then it goes flickering/ green to black again. I also tried reset and completely reinstalling it without luck. I guess the LCD cable is loose? How much would a repair cost?

Edit: sounds like a backlight problem according to a local repair shop, he said repair costs 120€... is it possible to fix it by myself, without technical super skills?

Depends. It could be the LCD going out (which is a DIY) or a backlight coil, which would need micro soldering.

Thanks for your answer! "LCD going out" means I have to buy a new LCD screen for109$ ?

I wonder if I could fix it somehow with a harder hit on the side as the screen works perfectly sometimes...

It is better to fix it hitting it just rigs it to work for a while just replace it alway the way to go. And how about having the lcd tested on another I pad this will help diagnose what the issue is!
