My phone doesn't charge with original charger

My brother gave me a S7 Edge but didn't give me the charger, so I've been using the one from my old S6, and it worked properly , including Fast Charging. But for some reason it stopped fast charging and it took 13h to full charge. So I bought a new and correct charger for the S7 Edge (V5-2A or V9 1.67A), but as soon as I connect it, it starts for a split second and immediately stop.

The charger works fine, I've tried on other phones.

I've tried cleaning the ports, trying different positions, charging while it's shut down, safe boot, even factory reset, tried the "Power Down and Unlock button press and connecting the cabe" and still doesn't work.

It got wet once, i got the message that it couldn't charge so I cleaned and it worked properly and few days later it stopped.

Chances are the charging port is corroded.

Try this, with a charging cable that is not plugged into a wall charger put 95% or higher isopropyl alcohol on the charging plug (where the pins are) then plug it into the phone multiple times, at least 10-20 times should do. Hopefully this will remove enough corrosion on the charger port.

If that does not fix the issue then I'm afraid the charging port needs to be replaced (or worse the inside of the phone needs to be cleaned). I recommend taking the phone to a mobile phone repair shop to get them to fix it for you.

Some repair shops will be able to replace the charging port without lifting up the screen, it's recommended this way as the screen is easy to crack.
