Hi @sugerbea ,

Can you hear the fan (or feel the air at the vent) running at all?

Are the LEDs flashing or are on steady, and if flashing and steady which LEDs are flashing and which are on steady? (If you have enough time to observe them that is)

Have you tried starting it with the charger connected and switched on?

Hi @sugerbea ,

I realize that it may be difficult but can you tell exactly which ones blink and which ones are steady, looking from left to right.

Getting that information will help diagnose the problem as the sequence of which is flashing and which is on steady gives an error code which will help to point out the problem area.

Hi @sugerbea ,

According to the service manual if the first light is blinking and the next 2 are solid then it suggests that you re-seat the Processor module.

This indicates that it may have come loose or that it is faulty. Given that it is screwed down it is hard to imagine why it would be loose although i suppose it could happen.

In any event you need to do what the manual says to prove the fault one way or the other.

From the Contents section at the beginning of the service manual select "Processor Module" and then follow "all" the necessary pre requisite steps and then the procedure to remove and reinstall the processor (CPU) and then see if the problem has been resolved. If not you may have a faulty CPU.

If this seems too daunting a task contact a reputable, professional laptop repair service and ask for a quote to repair the laptop.
