I don't think they changed much from year-to-year until the Touch Bar came out. Is it possible to put in a Mid 2015 logic board into a Late 2013? I know it's possible for 13" in this same set of years.
On an earlier machine, I was able to upgrade the LCD to a new one that wasn't available when the original model shipped.

Can you explain why you want to go this route?
If you have a working system you'll do better just buying a used one Vs transplanting a logic board to it to get a faster system.
A 2015 logic board is around $800 US. For a few hundred dollars more you can get a nice used system.

Well, that's a good question. I'm worried this perfectly good machine that actually had a keyboard, battery and screen replaced a year ago by Apple might need a new logic board. It seems like the transplant would be better than buying a new one, but perhaps not considering what I could get on it for parts.
So your actions here is being proactive as you had it serviced and worry its not going to hold up?? If Apple did the service you should be fine for a few more years at least! While it's not the fastest system, its more than good enough for most people. I'm still using my 15" 2012 Unibody which is more than I need for power.

I think its possible but I also think you will run into problems. Starting with the trackpad, the 2015 board is mean’t to be paired up with a force touch trackpad, which the 2013/2014 don’t have. Then the battery, the 2015 battery is different than the 2013/2014. And the LCD, I read that if a 2015 lcd pairs up with a 2013/2014 board, you will get picture but you won’t be able to control brightness. I expect the problem to be similar vice versa.

The older trackpad is not compatible with the signals the newer logic board is expecting. The mounts are also different. Force fitting logic boards into other systems gets tricky this is not a good fit.
I compared many of the steps in the iFixit take-apart instructions for the Late 2013 Macbook Pro 15 Inch, and the Mid 2015 Macbook Pro 15 Inch, and found enough significant differences that I'm certain that you can't put a 2015 logic board into a 2013 housing (darnit).
For instance, the plug on the end of the camera cable, which plugs into a connector on the logic board, is narrower on the 2013 model, because it has six lines in its cable, and the 2014 model has 12 lines, but even if the number of lines in each of the camera cables were the same, the different plug sizes prevents you from plugging in the other model's camera cable.
The I/O board cable is also different and non-interchangeable, and I think there are more cables whose plugs are too different to be cross-compatible, and other cables which are similar but their mating sockets on the logic board are in a different location.
There may be other issues as well, including the location of one or more of the threaded posts for the screws that hold the logic board to the upper case.
