Sim Card Still not detected

hope someone can help me, my htc one m8 started loosing its connection to the sim card. so i did all the usual tricks, taped back of sim card, hard reset. same problems. so i replaced the sim card tray all together. and i have the same problem. when i eject the card the phone tells me that ir cant detect sim card so something is working. it just doesnt know the sim card is in there, connections on sim tray are perfect and i have tried my sim cards on other phones and that works. other people sim cards do not work either so i am stuck....its not a software issue i think and i have replaced the hardware so where do i go from now? do i replace the sister board next?

... ok I have replaced the daughter board as well as SIM card tray and the SIM card holder and I'm having the same issue... could this be a software problem , even after I factory reset the phone... Im out of ideas.

Did you see the fix of pressing on the LCD from one side and the back cover from the other side, exactly where the sim card is. That temporarily fixed my problem. I don't know why though or how to definitely fix that. I'll try changing the middle frame.

Did you see the fix of pressing on the LCD from one side and the back cover from the other side, exactly where the sim card is. That temporarily fixed my problem. I don't know why though or how to definitely fix that. I'll try changing the middle frame. — Sofiane

I had the same issue, replaced the sim tray and keep having the same problem. I don’t think the problem is in the sim tray. I don’t think the problem is in the software either since my phone is running a custom ROM and the problem was there before installing it. It may be something else. Mother or daughter board.

Hi there,

I can give you my fix: after trying several things, I discovered that it was the Flex Ribbon of the daughter board.

Here it is on eBay:

Thanks for the imput, I'll try with the Flex Ribbon and will let you know whether it worked or not!

I bought a new Flex Ribbon but the problem is still there. So if the problem is not in the software, not in the sim tray and not in the flex ribbon I don't know where it could be. I think is time to replace the phone.
