Disk trapped in DVD drive

Hello,

I have an old iMac EMC 2266. Somehow, 2 DVDs were inserted into the drive. I managed to get one out but the other is stuck inside and has been for months.

I should mention that I have attempted all of the helpful force eject strategies including trying to force eject from the terminal.

I am wondering if there is a way to disable the drive permanently so I do not have to listen to the disk trapped inside trying to play or eject. I should mention there is no disk visible on the desktop or disk utility.

Any suggestions would be great. I would really prefer not having to open this thing up if possible.

FIRST: it will sound funny, but it helped me in the past... lean the iMac with the super drive hole facing down (gravity might help) while executing de terminal force eject command.... if it doesn't work then:

Why not disconnect it from the logic board?? in that kind of iMac, is not a big pain if done with careful =)
