Home Button Flex Cable Does Not Snap or Click to LCD Flex Connection

Hello everyone!

Not to long ago I decided to start repairing iPhone' because I have replaced so many of my own personal screens that I thought I could make a small business out of this. So far so good...but now, out of all the screens that I have dealt with I have never had much problems until I had to replace a cracked screen on a iPhone 7 plus. Out of the last 4 iPhone 7 plus repairs I've attempted, I've had to turn 4 of my customer away because the Original Home Button did not want to mate/marry/ connect to the flex cable connection of the new screen located on the bottom right of the screen.

When I put back together the old cracked screen, the home button snaps into place, working perfectly. But with my supplied new screens they don't want to connect.

Has anyone had this problem before?

I have talked to my supplier but they cannot seem to get a me a legitimate answer to what is going on with the screens they provide me. I don't want to force it because of the risk of damaging the home button and having a mad customer.

I am NEW to this field, so please bare with me. Any feed back would be great! :)

Have you looked at the connectors on your replacement screens under a microscope or a jeweler's loupe?

Perhaps your supplier is sending you low(er) quality goods. I would also order a high quality/premium screen from somewhere else just to compare. The biggest challenge in doing screen repair for profit is finding a solid supplier.

Thank your for your input and I will get the screens under my jeweler's loop to run a comparison. It is just frustrating because I shouldn't be forcing the connection and my supplier does not seem to understand the situation even with a video explanation.

Is there a good supplier out there that you would recommend?

iFixit is very good. I have tried different Chinese suppliers but my frustration with them is that they talk a good story about support but when things go wrong, they aren't very responsive, you have to argue with them to accept returns/refunds and you're always stuck paying for shipping back and forth. Granted, I'm a low volume screen guy (focused on micro-soldering) but it shouldn't have to be that way. iFixit stands behind the stuff the sell. When I have had issues, they were shipping stuff via Fedex overnight at their cost.

I had the same problem. For the life of me i cannot get the home button to lock into place into the screen cable. Ive tried GENTLY to push it together, and it will not click shut, and just pops right up again. Ive tried this a few times, and feel that now its damaged the pins, and now i cant get the home button to work at all, and it worked before I replaced the screen :-(
