Hi I had purchased the second generation ares 8 and I have noticed that the wifi signal is weak, the first generation ares 8 had excellent wifi reception. Where is the antenna location and is there a fix for this weak signal problem on the new version ares 8?

You might be surprised the issue is not the device but the frequency it is using. Many of the newer WiFi devices offer both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz support. I bet you yours is using 5GHz which offers better throughput but does not travel as far or though walls as well as the slower 2.4 GHz bands.
What to do??
If you want the better throughput you'll need to get closer to your access point (AP). Or look at upgrading your AP device to a mesh setup which offers multiple AP's around your house.

Hi my device is not running 5g and does not have 5g capability it is 2.4g wifi. I'm not the only one having weak signal on the ares 8 tablets. Does anyone have a schematic diagram for the nextbook ares 8? Trying to locate the wifi antenna on the main board. Modifications is a better option I've seen mini external stubby type antennas available from overseas which plugs into the headphone jack that claims to improve signal strength.
@nickyboy - Your Netbook has 802.11 b/g/n support so it does have dual band as thats part of the n spec (dual 2.4 & 5.0 GHz).
How about downloading this app so you can test your netbook comparing it to a second device: Wifi Analyzer I use this tool all of the time at work as we have some areas which the signal is not that great. I ended up having to add another AP to cover the area.
