Trouble connecting to network.

My tablet is connected to wifi (also says the connection is excellent) but when i want to do a system update it says "unable to connect to network". i have tryed turning it off and on, disconnecting to the wifi and connecting it back, nothing has worked and my last option is doing a factory reset and it not working and losing everything.
