I've opened up the PS3 and I want to open up the PSU unit, but I don't know how to get the plastic cover off. I've taken the screw out the bottom and I've pushed the latches at the back so the back opens up a bit, but it stays shut from the front, are there other thing I have to do?

Step 13 of our PS3 Slim teardown denotes the PS3 slim power supply. I think there are several retaining clips in front preventing the power supply cover from opening. Other than that, it should come right off.

Had the same issue; in my case there were no visible tabs to push back. After tinkering and pensively forcing it open, I realized that the tabs were hidden internally. Out comes the screwdriver, and after popping the 3 tabs on the vent side, the back vent is one whole tab that holds the 2 pieces together. That takes a while to open.
