DIY fusion drive data transfer

I made DIY fusion drive, everything works well, but after some gaming, I guess the graphic card is dead, Machine won't boot up to Apple screen, fan in full speed. I'm pretty sure the fusion drive is unharmed, now the question is, how do I transfer those data from fusion drive to other places? Probably not taking SSD and HDD one by one, and transfer data one by one....

And weird thing is, no one on internet every ask or answer this kind of question.

Any help please?

Thanks!

Not to worry! The HD has a full copy of all of your data. So all you need to do is remove it to salvage what was on your system.

Thanks a lot for your answer! I feel much less panic now!!

Just want to be more clear, you mean the HDD only (not SSD) has the full copy of data? Or still has to be the HDD+SSD bundle?

Just the traditional spinning drive (HD) is what is needed here.

A Fusion Drive is setup so a copy of the more accessed files is copied to the SSD so its faster in I/O access. A pointer is then use to point to the SSD copy but if the SSD copy is altered it is copied back to the HD so its copy is up to date.

Hi, Dan. I hooked the HD to an external hard drive case, and plug to my other Mac, it appears the Mac doesn't recognise the disk. however, from Disk Utility, it appears there ¨500GB, unformatted¨. Is there anything else I should be aware of?

Did you encrypt the drive? The disk you took out of your dead system should be readable as is if it wasn't encrypted. You may need to use some better disk/file recovery tools like:Drive Genius and/or Disk Rescue there are other tools that do the something as these I found these are easier to use and dependable.
