Bluetooth connect / disconnect loop

Hello, my s6 is having an issue with bluetooth. It will connect to an item then disconnect from it then connect again then disconnect again. Then after it connects and disconnects 2 to 3 times it will connect but no sound will play through the device, only a clicking noise can be heard. I tried clearing the cache, rebooted, forgot the device and reconnected to it, cleared the cache from the boot menu, and as a last resort factory reset. I've tried all the steps I could find online. I took it to us cellular and they suggest either pay 175 for insurance to get a replacement or buy a new phone. The tech said it could be a hardware issue.

Is there a step I'm missing? If it's a hardware issue, what should I replace? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated!

Is it possible to change the bluetooth receiver or update bluetooth version? If so, which board would need replaced? Or, what can I do to fix the problem? Need some sort of direction please. I've reflashed the phone and still having issues, which is leading me to believe it's a hardware issue...

Thank you for the reply. I tried that and I still get the off them on loop. There's not too much delay between turning on and then off and then back on again, I'd say about 3 seconds on, 3 seconds off, and repeats this way.
