My dvd is not seeing the cd,each a slot in the cd it shows no cd why

Hi,
What is the model number of your DVD player?
Have you tried different CDs or DVD discs?
Are the discs spinning in the drive? (check the position of the disc label before you insert the disc and after you eject it. Is it in the same position or has it moved)
