My ellipsis 7 will not power on no matter what I do. Why?

My tablet a Verizon Ellipsis 7 will not power up no matter what i do. Has been charged. Power button held down for 20 seconds released and repeated for 3 seconds. Another method Verizon Tech Support turned me onto is hold both up and down volume and power buttons down for a short while until powered up. No results. Now what? I have never not been able to make it power up. I used it on Monday Evening to catch up on one of my games. Had 40 percent power left when i turned it off.

Try opening the tablet and disconnecting the battery for a few minutes . Then reconnect and reboot . This will clean the memory and allow a clean boot so anything that may stop the boot will be cleared out . This guide will show how to open the case and the battery connector is visable in step 3 on the right side of the picture look for the + and - . If this doesnt help then your problem may be that the tablet isnt charging and if this is the case then you may want to look at the port and the cables and charger for defects. Hope this helps

Unfortionately my tablet still did not power up. I will look into going to a Verizon store and buying an original charger before taking it in to see if the charging port is bad. I have used multiple chargers on this devise. Thanks for you reply.

Gonna try leaving it unplugged for a short while and see if there is any change. Thanks again.

I tried disconnecting the power cord to the battery & left it overnight to give it maximum time to clear any memory interfering with the boot sequence. Still won't start normally or chance for factory restore.

Only shows "Powered by Android" & is frozen. It will not power down either.

Have tried with the case on,or the case off. Inside are a row of 3 (JiengTai Sensor Pad )metal contacts and another row of 2 contacts (JiengTai WiFi) that apparently are depressed when the case is on. What are their purpose? They do not make a difference when attempting to start the operating system.

Unfortunately to disconnect the battery power cord and reconnect didn't help. I also tried pushing the power and volume buttons when the battery was disconnected to see if that might purge from memory something that might then permit the boot cycle sequence when I plugged in the batter power before restarting the Ellipsis. However, this did't solve the problem of it being frozen at the "Powered by Android" screen.

One additional finding is the Device manger, under Portable Devices lists MTP USB Device, but the Ellipsis does not show it on my Windows File Explorer, sike it does for other disc drives and DVD/CD-ROM drives. Checking properties, it says that it has the latest drivers.

I opened and disconnected power cable from battery. Then tried to start it again and it still stops at "Powered by Android." Also tried all the suggested starts holding power on button and combinations including volume up and down.

Can the hard drive of the ellipsis be formatted and new software installed.

Hold the on button for at least a minute or more. If it doesn't work, plug into charger, and try that. Try again, and make sue you hold it in good. See also if your battery picture shows up on the screen, when you plug it in. It will show the battery power left and try the other bottom also. Then both at once. I trie all of these and one finally worked.

My charger is a dinosaur, and it still works. Try another USB cable end, if you have one.
