makes steam but not coffee
The steam wand works great but the espresso maker part does not have water going through it and so no coffee.

Does water come through the brew head with the portafilter off? If not remove and clean the brew head screen; coffee grounds can get behind it and clog it. If water does flow with the portafilter off, but not with it on, you've either got a clogged basket, coffee that is too finely ground or you're tamping too hard, or some combination of all three.

How does the machine sound when you click the "espresso" switch? Does it make a raspy, loud, mechanical noise? Or is it faint/silent?
Also, have you checked if 1. the plastic nozzle in the water tank is clogged, or 2. the coffee basket is clogged? I'd definitely put the coffee basket under running water to see if it's clogged before attempting to diagnose the problem further.

Without the coffee pod waters go thru slowly. Once I put the pod to make the espresso...stops. Like it does not have pressure strong enough to push the water thru

Hi,
I have a Jura Capresso EC Pro model 118, which just recently stopped working correctly. It seems as though it’s running hotter than in the past. Steam and hot water comes thru the portafilter and typically the steam builds up and leaks out of the group head while brewing. It seems as though this happened after a power outage which could be just a coincidence. Does this sound like a solenoid issue or something else I can check?
