Pressure on Laptop Hinge causes screen to freeze and not turn off

For a while, every time I've put any pressure on the center of the hinge of my laptop, my laptop screen freezes, the computer gets warm, and the screen only turns off if the computer is forced to shut down. Sometimes, I'll just be sitting and using the laptop and it'll freeze without me realizing that any pressure was put on it. Lately, it's become more sensitive and I've been wondering if anybody knows anything about this: Is it repairable, and, if not, what can I do about it?
