Black screen but phone working

Hi,I bought an xperia z2 last year from amazon uk, It's been working fine but suddenly last week it started draining really fast but went back to normal after a while. Yesterday it was working and I left it on the chair and went out, when I got back the phone was extremly hot and the screen couldn't come onm completely blacked out. I've tried resetting it (power button + volume up, reset button near sim slot) but nothing is happening. Im able to receive calls and messages (well can hear them) but the screen is not coming on. Any way around this problem? Im in Africa by the way so sending it to the dealer might not be a solution for me. Please help......Archie

Last night I was on Whats App and my Experia Z2 frooze. There was no response, couldn't exit the app. I thought to leave it over night and see if the battery will go flat to charge and restart. This morning the screen was black. A restart performed, can hear the phone responsiveness but still no screen display. How do I fix this?

In this case the only solution is replacing the LCD, but first you need to check is there's not water damage maybe on the LCD connector.

Thanks for your response. I was also thinking LCD, although it hasn't been anywhere near any water. The only thing I remember is the overheating. It's gotten hot before but not as hot as it was the day the screen blacked out, do you think the heat damaged something?

Have you tried power + volume down?

Hi Brian, I've tried everything suggested on the internet. I've given up and got myself a Samsung instead. Hope it will last longer. Thanks though
