How long does it take for it to update to 7.0?

My iPod touch 4th gen won't allow me to download and use apps until a certain update. A specific app I would like needs to be updated to 7.0 but I don't know how long it takes to receive a software update.

IOS 7? IOS seven has been reported to take up to 4 hours, depending on the occasions and internet connection.

Other Factors: Sync and Backup: aprox. 50 minutes.

Transfer Purchases: aprox. 30 minutes

IOS Updater Time: aprox. 30 minutes

I would say 4-7 hours at most.

I waited a full 24 hours but it hasn't asked for an update and the wifi is great. I looked online and it says I can't. I hope it isn't because this is the only I can get. Do you have more information?

1.Plug your iOS device into your primary computer via the provided cable.

2.Open iTunes.

3.For iTunes 11: In the iTunes window, click the iOS device button on the right.

4.For iTunes 10.7: Right-click (or Control click) on your iOS device in the iTunes Source list. ...

5.Allow the backup to complete.
