Damaged IR Sensor and Optical Drive Thermal Sensor connectors

Block Image

I've done many, many repairs via iFixit's repair guides, and this is my first fatal mistake. In the process of changing the hard drive, I inadvertently pulled the logic board out too far and damaged the IR Sensor and the Optical Drive Thermal Sensor - the wires ripped right out of the connector. Note to self: buy a Logic Board Removal Tool next time.

Anyway, it wasn't clear to me from looking at the iFixit site if those parts (cables?) are available from iFixit. Is one of them part of the HD cable and the other part of the optical drive cable? If I need to sacrifice the optical drive, I'm fine with that, as I don't need it. The connectors in question are indicated in the attached picture.

I'm looking for whatever I need to buy to fix my mistake, and suggestions are appreciated - thanks!

In my case I broke the optical-drive-thermal-sensor socket clean off the logic board. I saved the socket. Is there any way to reattach the socket, or am I stuck having to buy a new logic board?

Here's what you'll need:

  • Thermal Sensor Kit, ODD/Ambient, w/tape 076-1370
  • Hard Drive Flex Cable, Top, w/sensor and tape 076-1360

Update (12/17/2016)

These are Apple P/N's for the Mac Mini, not the MacBook

Here's the parts from one source:

- Thermal Sensor Kit, ODD/Ambient, w/tape 076-1370

- Hard Drive Flex Cable, Top, w/sensor and tape 076-1360

Thanks, Dan.

Are those part numbers iFixit part numbers? Nothing is found when I search on the numbers. When I search on the part names, I get nothing for "Hard Drive Flex Cable", while "Thermal Sensor Kit" brings up 1 result for a MacBook 13" Mid 2009 part, but I still find such no part in the 68 listed for that MacBook.
