Hello there,
I recently purchased an Asus X555YA-RB81-CB laptop, and wish to add an optical drive. However, I do not know the part number/model name of one that would be compatible. I have seen videos on how to install one, but not for my model. Could anyone let me know what it is, please?

Then there must be some empty dummy behind the bezel. You will have to measure the hight of the drive since there are two different hight on the market and if the laptop is made after 2010 then the drive should have a SATA connector. You should be able buy a ´DVD drive or a blue ray. I switched on my Asus G771 from a DVD to a blue ray.

On my Asus ROG they use the ultra slim ones I had at that time to go on ebay to find a propriate BD recorder.

Do you want to change the drive that is in the laptop or did you not get any optical drive?

I did not get one, but the salesman said one could be added in, as there is clearly a spot for it. Thanks!
