Hi,
i forgot my passcode and I want to restore my iPhone 5. I want to restore my phone even if I lose my data.
I followed the procedure on the apple site (I put my phone in DFU and the clicked on the restore button on iTunes but iPhone again asks me for passcode).
What is going on?

how did you forget your passcode? You need it any time the screen shuts off.

1 year ago I bought an iPhone 6 and I put my iPhone 5 in the box and I never used it for 1 year...

Connect your phone to computer. Hold down power for 5 seconds. Then press and hold the home button while still holding down power for 15 more seconds. When the Apple logo appears, release the power button and continue to hold the home button until "connect to iTunes" appears.
Choose restore and you will be all set.

In the first attempt I tried to put in DFU mode simply by holding home button when connecting the cable. The phone displayed "Connect to iTunes" but when I clicked on the Restore button my iPhone asked the passcode.
So it wasn't a real DFU mode, mistery!

this didn't work for me, and I did not encrypt my backup. I have an iPhone 6s Plus and have lost all of my information.
