Why is my signal so bad?
When I'm a certain distance away from the charging base, my call sometimes drops.

Hi,
Sometimes bad signals can be cause by interferences in your home. To fix this issue you can make sure that your charging base is placed at a higher point in your home to insure less resistance for the signal. Also you can check your antenna to make sure it is working correctly and if not refer to the replacement guide to replace it.

You may need to get closer to the charging base. Also, make sure walls or other objects are not impeding the signal from the phone to the charging base.
