Why won't my PlayStation3 stay on?

So I haven't used my PlayStation 3 in a while.. Well ever since I got my ps4. But it's set up in my basement for Netflix or when we want to play older games. But when I try to turn it on it goes from a green light with a flash of blue ( indicating a disc I assume). The green turns yellowish and then it just flashes red. When I turn it on it sounds like it's trying to start and then it just dies.... What's wrong with it?
