Dualshock 4 controller will not charge.

So my controller is not charging no matter how many cables I try. So I decided to test the battery and see it that was it so I swap the batteries in my two controllers and not neither one will charger so I'm thinking it may be both the battery and charging port on the first controller because when I but the batteries back in the proper controller I get the second to charge. Both are still able to connect to the Ps4 so they're still somewhat good. I also want to add that it is a day one controller having this problems so that may be a factor.
