Wifi does not always connect to computer and iPad

Service provider said to go to settings and change to channel 1, 6, or 11; how do I did that on my Sony laptop computer?

To change the channel, you look for the ip address listed somewhere on the router itself. It should look like this: 192.168.xx.xx There should also be a username and password listed there as well. Once you take note of those, go to the ip address in your browser(like type it in your address bar)

Then you will have to go to the page that says "wireless settings" or the similar and change the channel. The interface for each wifi router's settings page will vary a little.

If you want to find the optimal channel, an app called wifi analyzer will help you do so

Try updating your driver software on your laptop. Its free and you can get it from Sony. Also try downloading Malewarebytes on your computer you might have picked virus.
