Scratched an internal tape

Hello people! I have a Huawei P7 and I tried to change the screen because I broke it. Accidentally I scratched an aluminum tape that was behind the screen. I have attached pictures of it. Could you please tell me what is this tape used for and if I can just put on the top of the place I scratched it another aluminum tape and fix it? The phone works as it is now anyway.
