Why won't my laptop boost to the login screen?

The other day, I was on YouTube on my Asus laptop watching a video. I had it on full screen, so when it was over I pressed the escape button. Once I did this, my laptop closed out of the entire program and wouldn't let me click anywhere. I waited a while but experienced no change. Eventually I just turned off my laptop by holding down the power button. Now, every time I turn it on, the light comes on and it makes the normal sounds it made when it was working, but the screen quickly stops at a blackish-blue screen. It won't even get to the login page. Nothing is on the screen- no buttons, words, etc. Now when I try to turn it back off by holding the button, it won't do anything. Please help!! I've only had this laptop for 3 weeks at most.
