Simple on/off power remote button not working

I have a simple RF on/off remote that controls a power outlet. The remote is starting to not work when the single button is pushed. So I took it apart, and just from pressing the two dome switches I can tell something is wrong and the contact is not being made. Most of the time the contact between the upper and lower part of the dome is not happening. Does anyone know why this is? Can it be fixed or otherwise replaced?

The company that makes this will not sell replacement remotes for it. A replacement for the remote and power outlet is about $25, so it is not that big of a deal, but still, I'd like to be able to repair this.

Hi Chris,

It seems that the problem is related to getting contact right away.

I would check on the following:

(1) The position of the metal plates. Did they maybe change? I would make sure that these metal plates are really good fastened on the side of the circuit board where there are no circuits (the side you see on picture 3).

(2) Before fixing the metal plates, however, I would lift them and would clean the area beneath, so that the plates actually hit the area/dot on the circuit board where they supposed to hit it. You can clean that area with isopropyl alcohol and - in addition - also use a soldering iron to carefully "create" a fresh and flat solder point.
