Why is my screen displaying everything in negatives?

The screen in my ipod touch 4 shattered and later on it began to display everything in negatives. I replaced the entire screen assembly (glass, digitizer and lcd) and after overcoming the white screen issue the apple logo displayed normally them changed to a negative version. Does anyone know what the problem is? Thank you for your time.
