Does my LCD need changing? Help ME!

Hello!

I have an IPhone 6 that I am trying to fix! It hasn't been used in a while as it is my partners sisters and she got a new one!

I have managed to get it to charge and turn on and I have restarted it by doing the 10 sec reset home and lock button!

BUT... I have now realised that the home button doesn't even work! The touch ID does but I cant get into the phone because his sister cant remember the passcode!

I would just DFU the phone but the screen is completely unresponsive. It doesn't work at all and it had about 10 light white lines down the right side of the screen.

So the question is should I replace the LCD and glass front? Will that make the screen work again?

And also if anyone knows what might be up with the home button! LET ME KNOW!

Thank you!!

You'll need to test it with a new screen and home button to see if it works.

The digitizer/LCD flex cable for my phone caused lines on the screen. I had to push the flex toward the lcd to get it to work. I just can't take it apart anymore or it will have problems again. As for the home button not working, could the home button flex have gotten bent too many times? Just the button function being disconnected.

More than likely you just have loose connections for the digitizer and home button. It's a simple fix if you have a small pentilobe screwdriver, a small Phillips screwdriver, a plastic opening tool, and a metal opening tool. Only do this if you're confident in your abilities to work on phones. First, power off the phone. We don't want anything shorting out while you're working. Now remove the 2 pentilobe screws at the bottom of the phone. Once removed, you can now start opening the phone by placing your metal opening tool between the plastic frame of your screen and the metal frame of your phone at the bottom of the phone. Be careful not to push to hard and risk cracking the glass. After you have a small gap between the two frames, use your plastic opening tool down either side of the phone careful not to push too hard or deep into the phone. The screen should free up but still be connected at the top of the phone. Open the phone no more than 90 degrees, revealing the internal components. You're going to want the shield in the top right hand corner. Remove the 5 screws holding it in place, noting where each screw came from. It's very important that you do not mix up these screw because you can cause damage to the underlying board if you put the wrong screw somewhere it doesn't belong. Now that you have the shield removed, simply use your plastic opening to to carefully pop up the 4 connectors. It would probably do you good to give the ribbon cables a quick inspection for any damage at all. If you're satisfied that they're all in working order, you can now reattach the connectors being careful not to push hard and making sure that once they click in, there aren't any bends to the connector itself. this is a sign that the connector isn't lined up properly. With the connectors in, simply reverse what you've done and give it a try. If this doesn't fix it, You'll surely want to replace the screen. I hope this was helpful. Please reply if you have any questions.
